Gabare Copeyre: Boat trip on the lot

The Lot, one of the least populated regions of France, takes its name from the river of the same name! Puy-l'Évêque is located in the Lot valley. This department offers a great diversity of landscapes, with magnificent places such as Rocamadour, St Cirq-Lapopie, the Gouffre de Padirac, the Pont Valentré in Cahors, etc. Puy-l'Évêque, where the estate is located 3 km away, is one of the most visited sites in the department, and its medieval village is definitely worth the detour!

The river has always played a crucial role in Puy-l'Évêque, where customs officers counted the "gabares" transporting wine via the Lot to Bordeaux. This testifies to the important economic history of the city!

You will discover its magnificent Saint-Sauveur church from the 14th century, as well as a dungeon dating from the 13th century, among other treasures. Many activities await you, such as paragliding, canoeing, cycling, hiking and many more! The region is full of cultural events, notably musical, especially during the summer with the surrounding votive festivals and fireworks. The local saying is that the Lot is "a surprise at every step". Puy-l'Évêque offers all the attractions for a memorable vacation. You will find many shops nearby, as well as a varied choice of 20 restaurants and a market on Tuesday mornings on the village square! You will be spoiled for choice to please yourself! In the gîte, you will find more information on these restaurants and on the Lot....
